Two Types Of Urethritis:Nongonococcal Urethritis And Gonococcal Urethritis

There are two types of Urethritis: gonococcal urethritis (Commonly known as gonorrhea) andnongonococcal urethritis. They are both STDs (Sexual Transmitted Diseases). What is nongonococcal urethritis?

Mycoplasma hominis and mycoplasma urealytium are the main pathogene of urogenital system infection. 

The incubation of nongonococcal urethritis is 7 to 12 days. Male patients usually have symptoms of itching and burning urethra, pain when urinating. A few patients can have urinary frequency and slight redness in urethral orifice. The urethral orifice can have a small amount of mucous secretions in the morning. The symptoms are similar to gonococcal urethritis, but it’s milder.  

What is gonococcal urethritis? 

As we know, gonorrhoea is a common STD. In fact, it’s just another name of gonococcal urethritis which is a pyogenic infection of genitourinary system caused by diplococcus gonorrhoeae. The main symptoms of this disease are frequent and urgent urination, pain when urinating and pyuria.
